AVATAR is operated with tap water. The generator converts the oxygen molecules (O2) into ozone (O3) and then injects the ozone gas into the water. This produces a powerful biocide.
Ozone in water is inherently unstable. When ozonated water comes into contact with a contaminated surface, the third oxygen atom is released, oxidizing the organic materials (including fats and odors) it encounters.
